Sahaja is a beautiful and layered term with deep roots in Indian philosophy and spirituality. It’s a Sanskrit word that translates loosely to “spontaneous,” “natural,” or “innate”, something effortless and intrinsic.
In various Indian traditions of Advaita Vedanta, Tantra, and Zen-influenced Indian Buddhism (like Dzogchen), Sahaja refers to the natural state of the self or consciousness. It’s the effortless awareness that exists beyond the ego or dualistic mind.
It is about Being rather than doing — a recognition of what already is, without striving or conceptualizing.
Mystical poets like Kabir, Mirabai, and Lalla often spoke of sahaja in their poems. For them, it was about the natural union with the Divine, accessible in the simplicity of life, love, song, dance, breath, devotion. No dogma needed, just a deep inner alignment with truth and its outpouring into expression.
Join Benny and Satu in an exploration of your art, the naturalness of Being, through subliminal and captivating soundscape, storytelling, āsana, dance and Kirtan to finish.
