| Susan Rhoads Susan Rhoades has been studying yoga since 1991 when she was 8 months pregnant with her daughter to help her to deal with feelings of fear she had from her son’s birth. She attributes her ability to be confident, calm and present throughout the process of labor and delivery to her yoga practice. Since that time, using the techniques of yoga to help embrace difficult life challenges has been a recurrent theme throughout Susan’s life. Today she practices yoga to stay grounded, joyous and playful. The two most influential teachers in Susan’s life have been Dr. Vasant Lad, who was her first teacher of Ayurveda and with whom she has studied since 1999 and John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga who she met and has been studying with since 2003. Susan enthusiastically combines the two sister philosophies of Ayurveda and Anusara in her yoga practice and teaching. Drawing on personal experiences, Susan creates an open-hearted and exuberant learning environment in her ayurveda and yoga classes.
